What about the 15mg/kg dose for peds? I haven't seen anything about this.... Regardless, I am not so sure a COMPLETE ban is warranted. The vast majority of healthcare workers already know (or SHOULD know) about the potential negative effects of APAP on the liver. I think it should be left to US and our PATIENTS to decide the most appropriate treatment for their medical condition. Thanks for the warning, FDA, but some patients do really well on percocet and vicodin especially in acute pain. Other narcotics are too strong for them and ibuprofen may be too weak or have intrinsic bleeding and renal risks as well. Just 'black box' the meds, but until drug companies compound a percocet or vicodin with smaller amounts of APAP, I think the FDA will be tying our hands a bit too much with this ban.
