FDA Says to Avoid Stolen Albuterol Sulfate, Ipratropium Bromide
The FDA has warned patients not to use over 1.3 million doses of inhaled respiratory medications made by Dey LP that were purchased after Sept. 8. These may have been part of a shipment that was stolen.
The medications include albuterol sulfate inhalation solution, 0.083% (3.0-mL vials), and ipratropium bromide inhalation solution, 0.02% (2.5-mL vials). If consumers have any affected medications (lot numbers are listed in the FDA's news release), they should exchange the product at the pharmacy where they purchased it.
The FDA instructs consumers to notify their healthcare provider if they experience any adverse effects related to these medications.
