FDA Advisers: HPV Vaccine Should Be Approved for Use in Boys, Young Men
An FDA advisory panel recommended on Wednesday that the quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccine (Gardasil) be approved to prevent genital warts in males ages 9 through 26, according to the Wall Street Journal. The vaccine is currently approved for use in females of the same age.
Earlier in the day, the panel endorsed approval of a bivalent HPV vaccine (Cervarix) for use in females ages 10 through 25.
