Flu Notes: CDC Offers Info for Patients, NYC Cluster Details — and a Name Change

For patients with questions about swine flu, the CDC is offering an online resource called "Swine Flu and You." The agency's "Guidance for Professionals" page offers helpful links for clinicians and public health officials.

MMWR Dispatch offers details on the biggest U.S. cluster — in New York.

Its tally of cases as of Thursday lists 109 confirmed cases in 11 states. The Associated Press is reporting slightly higher numbers.

(Observers of style and usage will note that CDC has changed its naming convention from "swine flu" to "H1N1.")
